Just ask Mike Zimmer.
In a special election for a recently vacated seat in the Iowa State Senate, Democrat Mike Zimmer defeated Republican Katie Whittington, 52% to 48%. That may not sound remarkable, except that this is a district that Donald Trump won by 21 points.
